Cleanroom Tables - Eagle - Stainless 3/4" Dia Perforated Top - Multiple Sizes - Stainless Base - "C" Frame - CR Packaged - EA-CRPTxxxxT-H

Cleanroom tables are available with solid or perforated tops, brushed or electropolished finish.  The perforated tops allow for 23 to 25% laminar flow depending on the size.  All tops are 14 gauge type 304 stainless.  All clean room tables are shipped knocked down reducing the freight costs and the potential for freight damage.  The tables listed have a "C" frame.  An optional "H" frame is available at no additional charge.

Stainless steel tables are manufactured from different types of gauges or thickness of stainless along with the type of stainless.  Stainless steel is not a single alloy, but a group of iron-based alloys containing a minumum of 10.5% chromium. Other elements are added and the ghromium content increased to improve the corrosion resistance. The three main types of stainless steel seen in the lab and cleanroom industry are types 304, 316 and 430.  Type 304 is the basic chromium nickle austenitic stainless steel and is readily available.  Type 304 has good resistance to corrosion and is a non-magnetic steel.

Type 316 stainless steel is used for critical environments that require a higher level of resistance to corrosion than type 304 can offer.  Type 316 is also austenitic, non-magnetic, with a carbon content held to 0.08% maximum, while the nickle content is increased slightly.  What distinguishes Type 316 from Type 304 is the addition of molybedenum up to a maximum of 3%.  Molybdenum increases the corrosion resistance of this chromium-nickle alloy to withstand attacks by many industrial chemicals and solvents, plus inhibits pitting caused by chlorides.  Molybdenum is one of the single most useful alloying additives in the fight against corrosion.

Because of the molybdenum addition, Type 316 stainless steel can withstand corrosive attacks by sodium and calcium brines, hypoclorite solutions, phosphoric acid and sulfurous acids. Type 316 is specified for equipment in the medical industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing and sterile areas.

• Both types 304 and 316 are easily welded and formed
• Both types are non-magnetic
• 304 is made up of 18% chromium, 316 contains 17% chromium
• 304 contains no trace of molybdenum, 316 contains 2.1% molybdenum
• The biggest difference between the grades is molybdenum is added to Type 316 to increase corrosion and pitting resistance
