The 316 stainless steel tables are an all welded construction with lower "C" frame. Built for durability and cleanrooms with strict requirements.

WHAT IS ELECTROPOLISHING?
The electropolishing process smooths the microscopic surface of the 316 stainless steel table. The surface of the table is void of the smallest micro-depression or micro-projection. During the electropolishing process, the stainless steel is removed ion by ion from the surface of the table. The 316 stainless steel table is immersed in an electrolyte which would be a concentrated acid solution such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. The table is then subjected to a direct electrical current. The electrical charge will dissolve the microscopic metal ions from the stainless steel table.

Smoothness of the 316 stainless steel table is one of the primary and most advantages effects of electropolishing.  Electropolishing selectively removes microscopic high points or "peaks" faster than the rate of attack on the corresponding micro-depressions or "valleys". The electropolishing process removes metal. It does not move it or wipe it. The basic metal surface is left bright, clean, microscopically smooth, and has a "mirror like" finish.  Electropolished type 316 stainless steel is an excellent choice for a pharmaceutical and semiconductor cleanroom applications.

WHY IS 316 STAINLESS STEEL AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR A TABLE?
Type 316 stainless steel is used for critical environments that require a higher level of resistance to corrosion. The carbon content of type 316 stainless steel is held to 0.08 percent maximum, while the Nickle content is increased slightly.  What distinguishes type 316 from Type 304 is the addition of molybdenum up to a maximum of 3 percent. Molybdenum increases the corrosion resistance of this chromium-nickle alloy to withstand attack by many industrial chemicals and solvents, plus inhibits pitting caused by chlorides. Molybdenum is one of the single most useful alloying additives in the fight against corrosion.

Because of the molybdenum addition, type 316 stainless steel can withstand corrosive attacks by sodium and calcium brines, hypochlorite solutions, phosphoric acid, and sulfurous acids. Type 316 is specified for equipment in the medical industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and sterile areas.

The electropolished table ships on a motor freight carrier and the cost of shipping will be added to your order or can ship collect. Specify the carrier and account number in the box at checkout.
